The centrepiece is an L-shaped built-in seating frame in matching timber, fitted with deep outdoor cushions in charcoal. A low timber coffee table sits in front. A 1.8m timber privacy fence runs along two sides, screening neighbours while allowing filtered light through the board spacing. The fence doubles as a windbreak for the hillside location. The deck faces west, capturing afternoon sun and sunset through the tree canopy. No overhead structure was built, keeping the sky open. LED strip lighting under the seating frame provides a soft glow at night.
Completed in 2 weeks. The built-in seating removed the need to buy and store outdoor furniture. The privacy fence and LED strip under the seat make the space feel enclosed and intimate without being closed off.
