Overview
A large main bathroom in Bayswater that was underperforming its generous 9sqm floor area. The old layout had an oversized built-in bath and a cramped separate shower. We reconfigured the entire room around a sculptural freestanding white bath positioned against a floor-to-ceiling natural timber feature wall. The timber is sealed with a marine-grade coating rated for wet area use. A walk-in shower sits behind a glass partition with a recessed niche, finished in large-format concrete-look porcelain tiles that extend across the entire floor. The floating timber vanity opposite has vessel basins with pendant lights above. Underfloor heating (6sqm coverage) and a heated towel rail were added for comfort. The combination of warm timber, cool concrete-look tile and white sanitaryware creates a balanced, resort-style room.

Completed in 6 weeks including timber wall sealing and curing time. The freestanding bath and timber wall became the most talked-about feature of the home.
